British Stainless Steel Association - Managing Director


The British Stainless Steel Association is seeking a new Managing Director to replace Nigel Ward who is to take up a post at the Nickel Institute.


The BSSA is a membership-based organisation with the purpose of promoting greater use of stainless steel in the UK and Ireland. Its members come from all parts of the stainless steel industry, including producers, distributors, processors, fabricators and end-users. Membership is growing and stands at more than 170 companies.

The role of Managing Director is fundamental to the success of the Association and applications are sought from candidates who can demonstrate:

• A high level of financial and commercial astuteness, as well as excellent administrative, management, interpersonal and communication skills
• A proven track record of successfully developing services and organisations
• The ability to act as an effective ambassador for the organisation and its members
Whilst experience of the stainless steel industry would be an advantage, candidates from outside the sector who can demonstrate their potential to develop in the role are welcome.

Salary will be commensurate with the importance of the role and depending on the candidate’s experience.

The job is based in Sheffield.
