Bohler Special Steels

The Bohler UK Specialities Department (www.bohlersteels.co.uk) represents the following steel mills in the UK and Ireland:-

Böhler Edelstahl GmbH & Co KG (Austria - long products and forgings), Böhler Bleche GmbH (Austria - plate products), Böhler Ybbstalwerke GmbH (Austria - profiles), Buderus Edelstahl GmbH (Germany) and Villares Metals S.A. (Brazil).

The UK sales office can be contacted on 0121 543 2355 (8.30 am – 5 pm week days) and is based in Oldbury, West Midlands – close to Junction 2 of the M5 for good transport links throughout the country.

Primarily, the Bohler UK Specialities Department stocks a range of stainless steels aimed specifically at the oil and gas / petrochemical industries and aerospace. The material is available from stock typically within two days, either as random length bars or cut pieces. The UK stocked grades are duplex stainless steel, UNS 32803 / UNS 32205, super duplex stainless steel UNS 32760, precipitation hardening , super austenitic A286 ( ASTM A453 grade 660) 6 moly super austenitic UNS31254, plus nickel alloys 718 API and alloy 625.
Sizes range from 8 mm – through to 300 mm – grade dependant. Material is multi released by the steel mills to a variety of international (e.g. Norsok) and customer standards, contact us for further information regarding this.

As well as the stocked grades, Bohler UK are also able to offer, in reasonable lead times, a variety of different stainless steels types. These include martensitic stainless steel (heat / creep resisting, bearing and cutting types), precipitation hardening
(17/4 … 13/8), duplex and austenitic stainless steels. Various productions routes can be specified, EAF + AOD / VOD and VIM for primary melting and re-melting through ESR, PESR and VAR. Conversion to the desired product includes rolling mills, rotary forging machine and hydraulic press. Melt sizes range from ~ 2 tonnes through to
50 tonnes depending on the steel mill for new production. For a standard rolled, round product we generally offer a minimum quantity of ~1000 kg multiples for a given size.

As well as producing stainless steel in long bar forms, round and flat, we have the capability of producing wire (1 mm +), forgings, plate (0.8 mm +) and special rolled profiles (hexagons) within our group.
