  1. Chemical composition of stainless steel flat products for pressure purposes to BS EN 10028-7

    BS EN 10028-7 is the material standard for stainless steel sheet, plate and strip for pressure purposes. The current edition was published in December 2007. The grades are mostly a subset of the grades covered in BS EN 10088-2 for general purposes. There are also a number of creep resisting steels from BS EN 10302.  The chemical composition of stainless steel grades covered in the this standard are:

  2. Chemical composition of stainless steel long products for general purposes to BS EN 10088-3

    BS EN 10088-3 is the material standard for stainless steel long products for general purposes. The current edition was published in October 2014. There have been 15 new grades added compared to the 2005 edition and the compositions of 2 grades have been changed. LAST UPDATED 28th NOVEMBER 2014.

    The new grades added include austenitic grades 1.4615, 1.4646, 1.4020, 1.4378, austenitic-ferritic (duplex) grades
    1.4162, 1.4662, 1.4482, 1.4062, 1.4669, 1.4658, ferritic grades 1.4611, 1.4621, 1.4613, martensitic grade 1.4150 and precipitation hardening grade 1.4612

  3. Chemical composition of stainless steels to BS 1449-2

    BS 1449 is now obsolete. Before the publication of BSEN 10088-2 and BSEN 10095 it was the material standard for stainless and heat resisting steel plate, sheet and strip (flat products). Flat products for pressure purposes are now covered by BS EN 10028-7. The chemical composition of stainless steel grades that were covered in BS 1449-2 and are included here include 284S16 301S21 304S11 304S15 304S16 304S31 305S19 309S24 310S24 315S16 316S11 316S13 316S31 316S33 317S12 317S16 320S31 320S33 321S31 347S31 403S17 405S17 409S19 430S17 434S17 410S21 and 420S45

  4. Chemical composition of stainless steels to BS 1554

    BS 1554 is now obsolete. Before the re-publication of BS EN 10088-3 in 2005 it was the material standard for stainless and heat-resisting steel round wire. Stainless steel wire for springs is covered by BS EN 10270-3.   6. Chemical composition of stainless steels to BS 3605

    BS 3605 was the material standard for stainless steel pipes and tubes for pressure purposes and covered both seamless and welded tubes. Both parts of the standard have now been replaced by European Standards BSEN 10216-5 and BSEN 10217-7.   7. Chemical composition of stainless steels to BS 970

    BS 970 is now largely obsolete. Before the publication of BSEN 10088-3 in 1995 and BSEN 10095 in 1999, BS 970 was the material standard that included stainless and heat resisting steel bars and rods in both hot rolled (or black) conditions (part 1) and bright bar conditions (part 3). Part 1 (1996) is still current, but now only covers bars made by forging (not rolling). Bars for pressure purposes are now covered by BS EN 10272.     BS 3146-2 is the material standard for castings, to be made by the investment (or lost wax) process and includes some stainless steels.
