  1. Ambient temperature mechanical properties of ferritic stainless steel bright bars to BS EN 10088-3

    The BS EN 10088-3 standard gives the mechanical properties for ferritic stainless steel semi-finished products, bars, rods, wires, sections for general purposes. The current edition was published in October 2014. The properties given are proof strength, tensile strength, elongation and hardness for Bright Bars.

    The BS EN 10088-2 is the material standard for stainless steel sheet, plate and strip for general purposes. The current edition was published in October 2014.     The BS EN 10088-3 standard gives the mechanical properties for ferritic stainless steel semi-finished products, bars, rods, wires, sections for general purposes. The current edition was published in November 2014. The properties given are proof strength, tensile strength, elongation and hardness. LAST UPDATED 1st DECEMBER 2014.

  4. Ambient temperature mechanical properties of stainless steels to BS EN 10269

    BS EN 10269 is the material standard for stainless and heat-resisting steels, a selection of low alloy steels and some nickel alloys for fasteners. The ambient temperature mechanical properties shown in this article include 0.2% proof strength, tensile strength, elongation, reduction in area and impact (charpy) strength in the finally heat treated condition. Specified hardness levels for the steels for subsequent quenching and tempering (1.4923 1.4938 and 1.4913) in their delivery condition are also included.

  5. Ambient temperature physical properties of stainless steels to BS EN 10088-1

    Ambient temperature physical properties, including density, modulus of elasticity (Young's modulus), coefficient of thermal expansion, thermal conductivity, specific heat (heat content or heat capacity) and electrical resistivity for a range of ferritic, martensitic, austenitic and duplex stainless steel types are tabulated. Some explanation of the units used for these properties is given.

  6. BSEN 10204 test certificates for stainless steel products

    Test certificate types 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 3.1, 3.1B, 3.1A, 3.1C and 3.2 to the 1991 and 2004 editions of BSEN 10204 are described. The 2004 edition has simplified the range of certificate types to only include types 2.1, 2.2, 3.1 and 3.2. Type 3.1 replaces 3.1B and type 3.2 replaces 3.1A, 3.1C and 3.2 of the previous 1991 edition. The 1991 version of EN 10204 was based on the original German DIN 50049.

  7. Chemical composition of stainless steel castings to BS EN 10283

    BS EN 10283 is the material standard for stainless steel castings for corrosion resisting purposes. The chemical composition of stainless steel grades covered in the this standard include 1.4011 1.4008 1.4317 1.4405 1.4411 1.4525 1.4309 1.4308 1.4552 1.4409 1.4408 1.4581 1.4412 1.4446 1.4458 1.4527 1.4584 1.4416 1.4587 1.4588 1.4593 1.4347 1.4470 1.4468 1.4517 1.4417 and 1.4469.

  8. Chemical composition of stainless steel flat products for pressure purposes to BS EN 10028-7

    BS EN 10028-7 is the material standard for stainless steel sheet, plate and strip for pressure purposes. The current edition was published in December 2007. The grades are mostly a subset of the grades covered in BS EN 10088-2 for general purposes. There are also a number of creep resisting steels from BS EN 10302.  The chemical composition of stainless steel grades covered in the this standard are:

  9. Chemical compositions of stainless steels to BS EN 10217-7

    BS EN 10217-7 2014 is the European standard: Welded stainless steel tubes for pressure purposes- Technical delivery conditions. It contains austenitic and duplex stainless steels. There are no ferritic, martensitic or heat resisting steels.

  10. Chemical compositions of stainless steels to BS EN 10253-3 and 10253-4

    BS EN 10296-3 and 10253-4 are the material standards for austenitic and duplex stainless steels for butt-welding fittings without and with specific inspection requirements. They were published in December 2008.
