This first in a series of CPD presentations for architects will also be of interest to anyone interested in the use of stainless steel in architecture, building and construction. The presentation describes the developing use of stainless steel, including its most important relevant properties and distinctive appeal. It introduces the most common grades of stainless steel used in construction, as defined by the new EN standard EN 10088, and illustrates the wide range of surface finishes currently available. It concludes by highlighting the contribution of stainless steel to a more sustainable built environment.
