Editorial: Welcome to the BSSA's New Website

Why the new site?
Since 2000, the BSSA website has been providing technical information about stainless steel and during that time the amount of information has grown dramatically with more than 200 technical articles and 100 publications. At the same time the use of the site has risen sharply with downloads reaching 250,000 pa and site visits numbering more than 2 million. We know that the old site, which has served us well, was not the easiest to navigate and given the significant increase in the number of articles and publications we felt it was now time to address this issue. So the new site has been designed to help you find information much more easily. At the same time, we have taken the opportunity to improve other features and add new ones.
What does the new site provide?
First and foremost, the navigation system is made simpler and more intuitive, so finding what you are looking should take less time. Traditionally, the site has been a resource of technical information and we have added “Frequently Asked Questions” to cover the most common topics. We have also improved the search facility and added an “Advanced Search” option.
Other front page features include:
- Find a Supplier: helping site visitors wanting products or services provided by our members;
- Training: which describes the training programmes and courses that the BSSA provides;
- Events: giving full details of all the BSSA programme of activities together with those of other related organisations;
- Latest: providing news and views from members and the wider stainless steel industry.
