Congratulations to Kirsty Davies of PPS who was recently presented with her Attwood Award
09 Nov 2009

Kirsty Davies BA, MA, Managing Director of Professional Polishing Services Ltd was presented with The Attwood Award by Hon Alderman Matt Redmond M.B.E.
Awards are given once a year since the inaugural lectures in 2002 by Sir Adrian Cadbury, who set up the Aston and Birmingham Democracy Commissions, and James Robertson, who received the 2003 Pio Manzu International Research Centre’s Gold Award from Mikhail Gorbachev for his ‘remarkable contribution to the promotion of new economics grounded in social and spiritual values’.
In 2005 the Aston Reinvestment Trust were presented with The Attwood Award by Thomas and Sylvia Shaw (a descendant of Thomas Attwood) on their achievement of creating or preserving over 1,700 jobs. The Aston Reinvestment Trust is a not for profit organization which in this present climate is more important that ever as they do not demand security and lend to those unable to access bank loans.
Kirsty was presented with her Attwood Award for her support for local jobs and manufacturing and her belief that firms have a moral duty to protect the jobs of their employees, at a time when the Chamber of Commerce was advocating offshoring to maximize profits.
Kirsty said, “I am incredibly flattered to have been presented with this Award, and I hope that in the future, despite the current economic climate, we can as a Company continue to grow and invest in the West Midlands. We are the U.K.’s leading sub-contract polishing company for stainless steel, and process over twelve thousand tonnes a year, and despite the recession we are still investing in plant and people.”
