HTA Group achieves BS EN 1090 EXC 2 Certification
06 Dec 2016
HTA Group has successfully achieved full CE Marking compliance with certification to BS EN 1090, up to and including Execution Class 2.
The certification means the Coventry-based subcontract manufacturer is now able to deliver consistently high quality steel and aluminium structures, whilst conforming to customer demands and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
As a company that embraces the principles of continuous quality improvement, the new certification complements HTA’s existing ISO 9001:2008 accreditation as well as various other approvals which are held from OEM customers.
Wayne Wild, HTA Group’s Managing Director, said: “HTA’s new accreditation is a testament to our commitment to improving quality throughout the company.
“Our primary objective is to meet and surpass the needs of our customers, and this new accreditation will enable HTA to make great strides in the fabrication industry.”
Structural metalwork in the UK is CE marked under the Construction Products Regulations (CPR), and the new certification will allow HTA to design, manufacture (including welding) and install structural work in steel and aluminium up to and including Execution Class 2.
Engineering and Fabrication Company WEC Group Ltd acquired HTA in May 2016, creating a business with over 800 employees and a projected £75 million turnover.
HTA is the third company of the Group to hold the accreditation, and it is a welcome addition to the Group’s current quality accreditations, including AS9100 for laser cutting, waterjet cutting and CNC machining, as well as RISQS approval.
In addition, HTA is now in the final stages of the BS EN15085-2 Rail welding accreditation process, with final audit scheduled for January 2017.
Founded in 1973, HTA is a leading supplier of laser cut parts, sheet metal components and fabricated assemblies and has a strong track record of investment in technology.
Last year, the company invested more than £2 million in automated laser profiling technology in an installation that was reported to be unparalleled in the country. This is in addition to WEC Group’s £11 million investments in new machinery and workspace, including £7 million on a new 300,000 sq. ft. factory in South Yorkshire.
