Design Manual for Structural Stainless Steel - Tuesday 26th September 2017

Stainless steel is used for a wide range of structural applications in aggressive environments where reliable performance over long periods with little maintenance is required. In addition, stainless steel has an attractive appearance, is strong yet still light, highly ductile and versatile in terms of manufacturing.

This one day seminar will launch the Fourth Edition of the Design Manual for Structural Stainless Steel and will equip engineers with the skills necessary to design structural stainless steel in accordance with current European design practice.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Material and mechanical properties
  • Recent case studies
  • Designing members and connections
  • Fire resistance

The seminar is part of PUREST (Promotion of new Eurocode rules for structural stainless steel), a European dissemination project funded by the Research Fund for Coal and Steel.
